Trailer Hopping : Outrageously Funny and Disgusting Movie 43
The trailer for Movie 43 is so disgusting and crude I have to write about it. It’s a trailer that is disturbing and offensive in every way; and what’s saving it from causing every rights group to strike against it is probably its honesty. The film tells the viewer exactly what to expect and has no hidden agenda about its outrageous and fowl nature.
The short movie blurb on imdb.com states that Movie 43 is about three teenagers searching for the most banned movie on-line. The film is a series of short films strung together into a story by twelve different directors and about a million highly regarded actors. From watching the trailer, there is no indication that there is a cohesive story of any kind. It appears to be a bunch of over-the-top scenes filled with lewd comments about sex, body parts, bowel movements, and more sex. So, it would be interesting to see how it all ties together, if it could tie together.
Watching the trailer is like watching someone walk into a glass wall – it’s wrong to laugh but it’s hard not to. Every word, every gesture and every facial expression are politically incorrect on every level. The fact that they were able to enlist some of the best and more serious actors to say such unbelievable things makes it fun also. Terrence Howard spewing a bunch of racist and Black stereotype comments in the locker room is an example of the type of offensive, yet funny scenes. What’s smart about the casting is they used a Black guy to make Black stereotype comments; Anna Faris – a great comedian to say unexpected things; or Gerard Butler, a Scottish (not quite Irish, but close enough, I guess) to play a fowl mouth leprechaun.
The great thing is it makes no pretense about what it is. The trailer tells the viewer exactly what wrongs to expect: “unexpected” – weird sexual desires; “unusual” – std’s become normal convo; “uncensored” – picking on kids; “unbelievable” – unusual body parts; “unspeakable” -- leprechaun; “just plain wrong” – race; “from some extremely warped minds” – awkward dating situations. All in all, it is a movie that is “unforgivable” and fun. You won’t catch me watching it in theaters, but it sure will attract a lot of teenagers, man-boys and their dates, and anyone curious enough to find out what the sick enjoyment is in being “pooped” on.
Movie 43 is scheduled to open on January 25, 2013. It has an all-star cast – Emma Stone, Hugh Jackman, Naomi Watts, Chloe Grace Moretz, Elizabeth Banks, Gerard Butler, Kristen Bell, Anna Faris, Chris Pratt, Kate Winslet, Josh Duhamel, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Halle Berry, Uma Thurman, Richard Gere, Terrence Howard, and a slew of other well-known actors.
