See Frankenweenie Live and Play

Well-constructed trailer with meticulous attention to detail, but not sure the angular faced characters with big, scary eyes would go well with a broader audience besides the Tim Burton fans. Lucky for him, he seemed to have a lot of fans favoring his slightly dark and edgy work. The stop-motion animated film reminds me of Wallace and Gromit, a Claymation – similar technique but very different artistically; although the unique and quirky characters, dark and off-kilter storyline and slow pace appear very similar to me. Of course, most people will think Corpse Bride instead.   More »

Can't Wait for the Avengers

This trailer is so much worse than the preview trailer, where they did a great job introducing the good and bad characters and had some fun between the relationships of the Avengers. This trailer is masked by loud thudding sounds, introduction of chaos and war, displaying too much conflict issues between the Avengers, and showing all action sequences, trying to appeal to the nerdy fanboys, that the trailer contained no real storyline to follow. But, I’ll still watch for no better reason than that it's the Avengers, dude.   More »

I watched this trailer without sound and it looked frightening. I watched it again with the headphones, and the sound made a small difference. The visuals were suspenseful and intense, capturing every minute detail through slow moving frames and fast flashing bits and pieces of the intruder, scaring me with shadows lurking behind doors as if I were a young child afraid of the monsters in my closet.   More »

Can Do Without the Cherry

How frustrating is it that I thought I finally get to see a pornography trailer and it’s neither stimulating nor pleasurable. The character development and liveliness are lacking in this trailer. All the characters are very subdued, mellow and one dimensional, without any complexity or complicated problems to solve. They showed all the actors, but didn’t quite tell who they are, except that they’re all intertwined somehow. Simply knowing who’s good or bad would help.   More »

This trailer got me at the sight of Alec Baldwin with long, hippie hair and leopard print button down shirt, including tight black pants. Russell Brand looks like he naturally fits in to the 80s madness. Did Adam Shankman bring back the 80’s or what?   More »

I have absolutely no interest in this movie, but I told myself I would not judge a movie before seeing the trailer like I did with the Vow, which opened at number one and remained there again. Unbelievable how much mushiness women can tolerate. The poster for Dark Tide looks like a direct to video movie and the trailer reinforced that even more.   More »

I really wanted to like this movie, not because of the story line, but because of the cast. Kevin Klein, Diane Keaton, Dianne Wiest, and Richard Jenkins – hard to turn down a group of talented and entertaining actors, except the trailer was a complete let-down.   More »

The Cold Light of Day Has Some Warmth

The story sounds like what would happen if one of the children from True Lies grows up and finds out his father is a CIA. The movie is about a young American man played by Henry Cavill who must defend himself and save his kidnapped family while on vacation in Spain. Along the way, he discovers new truths about his father’s work with the CIA. The trailer makes good use of the sound effects to build a good, suspenseful and action filled trailer. Although, it’s hard to piece together the trailer into a well-constructed story. At times, the trailer feels too "all over the place".   More »

Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter is Mindless Fun

I’ve always enjoyed reading books with good history, but never thought good history would include vampires and supernatural beings. The movie, Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, is based on a best-selling novel by Seth Grahame-Smith. Based on the trailer, the movie looks like an action-packed and mindless entertainment of a thirsty, tall bearded man out to suck the vampires dry with an axe.   More »

If you’re like me and secretly hoping that the next Eddie Murphy movie will be his comeback movie to his heydays, then, let’s pray that this is it. I laughed from the get-go. Not only that, there isn’t a fart or fat joke in sight. The entire trailer has an energetic and fun feel – from the music to the vibrant green leaves and text between each scene.   More »

Holy mother of crap! Are you kidding me? Seriously? I’m dumbfounded and numbed by absolute stupidity and racking my brains for something good to say about this piece of sh*t. Let me start with the positive and say that the … uh… I’ll save the best part for last.   More »

Ah! Too much fading in and out of scenes. Stop it. It’s hurting my eyes and interrupting my attention span, or enjoyment of the trailer. Wow. Guy Pearce looks buff. Not only that, his voice even sounds deeper. Must be the steroids talking. I like how the narrator’s voice is deep and creepy, as if he were narrating a horror movie and introducing the most horrific creature known to man-kind, which is …. ready for this? (low-pitched, slow-motion man’s voice): man-kind.   More »

The Bourne Legacy May Be Redundancy

The Bourne Legacy trailer entices the audience with sneak peeks into the new CIA operative played by Jeremy Renner—giving the viewer enough to be intrigued but not enough to be over-satiated. The trailer does a good job drawing in the viewer with dark and mysterious background music that quickly moves faster and faster, sounding like a monster crawling out of hiding, ready to strike its next victim. The voice-over synchronized well with dramatic music while introducing the new main character who is taking over for Matt Damon’s Jason Bourne.   More »

Get the Gringo May Be OK

Get the Gringo trailer is the most straight-forward and complete story I’ve seen so far. It seems like the two minute version of the movie, and looks entertaining although not very original. Since Mel Gibson is still probably not on anyone’s favorite list yet, this one may not be a hit either. The trailer looks very low quality, not certain if it’s the trailer itself or just the clip I’m watching. Despite the quality, the trailer has a good combination of action, adventure, comedy and clever narration.   More »
