'Star Wars: Episode VII' Adds Christina Chong

For a film that initially looked to be something of a sausage fest, Star Wars: Episode VII is shaping up to be a rather distaff-friendly slice of sci-fi. In the latest of several recent casting announcements, British actress Christina Chong has been added to the mix. Chong joins a growing list of new faces in the upcoming sequel, including Daisy Ridley, Lupita Nyong'o, Gwendoline Christie, and Crystal Clarke; her recent credits include an appearance in the Fox miniseries 24:

Who needs to wait for May the 4th when you can just go ahead and surprise everybody with an announcement on April 29? Following months of rumors and ever-more-deafening buzz, Disney has revealed the main cast for Star Wars: Episode VII -- and just like studio chief Bob Iger promised, it does indeed include a mix of new and familiar faces.

Chewbacca's back! Confirming one of the most widely reported rumors surrounding the upcoming Star Wars sequel, the Hollywood Reporter's sources say that Peter Mayhew will return to reprise his role as everyone's favorite Wookiee for one more trip to long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away.

Carrie Fisher Says She's Going to Be in STAR WARS: EPISODE VII

collider.com – Even though a script is still in development, Carrie Fisher sounds fairly certain that she'll be a part of the Star Wars sequel trilogy. According to TheForce.net, Fisher was asked at book signing in Cherry Hill, New Jersey last night if she was going to be in Episode VII, and she replied "Yes....I thought it was already common knowledge." Last month, Mark Hamill said he and Fisher had lunch with George Lucas in August, and the Star Wars creator revealed the sequel trilogy was on the way.
