It doesn't have a cast or a director yet, but Lionsgate's upcoming Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie has a date: July 22, 2016. Dubbed simply Power Rangers, the latest big-screen outing for Saban's apparently deathless franchise purports to "reimagine" the origin of the colorful team of heroes, described as "a group of ordinary high school kids who find themselves infused with extraterrestrial powers and must harness those powers as a team to save the world."

Roberto Orci Promises He Won’t Ruin ‘Power Rangers’ Movie – Nostalgia for pop culture of the past is at an all-time high right now, as all of our favorite films, TV series and cartoons of the ’80s and ’90s continue to be recreated for a new generation. Yet for every remake that does well according to critics and fans, there’s another one out there that ends up missing the mark.

However, the idea of building to films starring a bunch of famous villains such as Lizard, Electro, Rhino, Green Goblin, Vulture and Doc Ock seems almost insurmountable. 7 years 45 weeks ago via brucelee
