Rocket Protects Star-Lord in New 'Guardians of the Galaxy' International Poster In just over one month, Marvel fans will get to experience the Guardians of the Galaxy in theaters for the first time. To get everyone ready for this highly-anticipated theatrical event, Marvel Studios has released a new international poster, featuring Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper) and Groot (Vin Diesel). James Gunn directs this cosmic adventure that finds this group of unlikely heroes banding together to save the universe from a powerful threat, which hits theaters August 1.

2 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Empire Magazine Covers The latest issue of Empire Magazine comes with two very different covers, one featuring the heroes and the other promoting the villains of director James Gunn's sci-fi epic Guardians of the Galaxy. It will be a fight throughout the cosmos as Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) pulls an unlikely team of thieves, assassins and maniacs together to stop Thanos from ruling the galaxy. It won't be easy, though. On Thanos' side resides the deadly Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace), who rules with a heavy hammer.

James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy may be Marvel's biggest and boldest exploration of their cosmic universe, but the upcoming space epic adventure will of course spend a minute or two on earth where we'll first meet Peter Quill, pre-Star-Lord,  as well as his mother Meredith Quill, who is played Laura Haddock.
