'The Conjuring' Spinoff 'Annabelle' Is Coming in October

The main story in last year's hit horror flick The Conjuring boasted plenty of scares, but the movie's prelude -- which set up the starring ghosthunter duo Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) by depicting a bit of one of their more infamous cases, involving an allegedly possessed doll -- also raised plenty of goosebumps.


'The Conjuring' Getting 3 Spinoffs; Sequel May Happen Without James Wan – Just as director James Wan’s Saw gave rise to multiple sequels – with an eighth installment currently in development – and his micro-budgeted supernatural horror film Insidious got a second installment this year with Insidious Chapter 2, Wan’s other 2013 release, The Conjuring is about to become the beginning of a new franchise, after having grossed $316 million worldwide against a $20 million budget.

New Line Conjures An Annabelle Spin-Off – Devil doll gets her own prequel movieIntriguing news from Warner Bros. and New Line this morning, revealing the surprising extent of their plans to make a franchise out of James Wan's excellent mainstream horror The Conjuring.
