The Hunger Games had a monster opening last weekend and set all sorts of records with its $152 million haul over three days. While it had the third biggest opening of all time, behind Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 and The Dark Knight, it sits at the top as the biggest opener for March and as the biggest opener for a non-sequel.
deadline.com – FRIDAY 9 AM: The Warner Bros 3D sequel, Wrath Of The Titans, opened with an excellent $1 million from midnight screenings in 1,490 theaters. Box office predictions are for the action followup to Clash Of The Titans to debut to $34M-$36M this weekend in what is promising to be a huge North American moviegoing weekend. 4 years 51 weeks ago via donnieyen
rottentomatoes.com – One week after "The Hunger Games" broke box office records, several Katniss-free flicks hit multiplexes: "Wrath of the Titans," starring Sam Worthington and Liam Neeson, "Mirror Mirror," starring Julia Roberts and Lily Collins, and the documentary "Bully," which drew headlines after its distributors protested its MPAA rating. Wrath of the Titans is a sequel to a remake - specifically, 2010's Clash of the Titans -- and critics say that while this follow-up retains its predecessor's goofy charm, it once again favors spectacle over storytelling and character development. 4 years 51 weeks ago via donnieyen
feedproxy.google.com – After the generally unsatisfying Clash of the Titans, the only satisfying thing the sequel, Wrath of the Titans, seems likely to bring to the table is a big collection of creatures. Things being what they are, they’ll all be CG, but there’s still a chance for the film’s squad of designers to play with the well-established inhabitants of Greek mythology. 5 years 2 days ago via donnieyen
