We’ve another diverse group of new releases coming into theaters this weekend—a war drama based on a true story that you’ll have to see to believe, the latest young adult film featuring some kind of supernatural being, and the unlikely hero, an animated film utilizing popular children’s (and many adult’s) toys.

The Lego Movie won't kick off its wide release until this weekend, but it's already benefiting from some terrific word of mouth (and a growing stack of positive reviews), and execs at Warner Bros. have apparently already seen everything they needed to see before greenlighting a sequel.

We’ve quite the large batch of new releases heading our way this weekend; while a group of four new releases can be rare, rarer still is that three out of the four were met with decent critical reception, with the lowest rating received (of the well-received films) being 75%.

collider.com – Ron Burgundy is back. Not only does he have a new movie, but he is curling in Canada and reading the news in Bismarck, North Dakota. There is a new Ben and Jerry’s flavor dedicated to Ron Burgundy- Scotchy Scotch Scotch (butterscotch, not the alcohol)- and it is delicious. There is even a new phone game created by Funny Or Die, “Scotchy Scotch Toss” has players toss ice cubes into Ron Burgundy’s glass to win points and hang out with San Diego’s legendary anchorman. 11 weeks 6 days ago via theothersenhman
feedproxy.google.com – Will Ferrell and the gang return to theaters Wednesday, more than nine years after the first comedy hit the big screen.Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues launches into theaters Wednesday, bringing back to the big screen the mustachioed news anchor Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) and his gang of oddball colleagues. screenrant.com – Ron Burgundy is dumber than a dolphin. We’re at Sea World in San Diego on the very last day of filming for Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues and a coliseum of extras is watching Will Ferrell lose a fight with a sleek, gray bottlenose who – without training – dismisses his insults by blowing air out of her hole and swimming away. 16 weeks 4 days ago via jackiechan
Will Ferrell Talks ANCHORMAN 2: THE LEGEND CONTINUES, Avoiding the Curse of the Sequel, Teaming up with the Old Crew, and More
collider.com – While on set for Paramount's Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues at SeaWorld San Diego, we had a chance to talk to Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) himself in between his turns hosting the afternoon dolphin show. The newscaster appears to have fallen quite far since his high point at the end of the first film, but the chance to reteam with Brick Tamland (Steve Carell), Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd), Champion Kind (David Koechner), Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate) in tackling the 24-hour news cycle may just be his path to return to the top. 16 weeks 6 days ago via donnieyen

Will Ferrell and Adam McKay have had nearly a decade to come up with another couple hours of inspired lunacy for the Anchorman crew to goof their way through, and it looks like they've put that time to good use: the second trailer for the upcoming Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues is easily the most delightfully absurd 158 seconds you'll spend all day.
