We're the Millers
The Millers' blissful life in the witness protection program is not going to last for they are coming back for the sequel, which isn't surprising since We're the Millers made seven times the production budget at the box office.

‘We’re The Millers’ Getting Sequel; Writer Attached

feedproxy.google.com – One of the biggest box office surprises of 2013 had to be Rawson Marshall Thurber‘s We’re The Millers. Made for just under $40 million, the comedy grossed $150 million in the U.S. and $270 million worldwide. That’s a huge number, so it’s no surprise a sequel is in the works. 8 years 40 weeks ago via donnieyen

Weekend Box Office Report: 'Battle of the Year' Loses the Battle of the Box Office, 'Prisoners' Captures Top Earnings

5:34 PM 9/22/2013 by Logan Falk
Despite its star-studded cast, it’s difficult to imagine that the dance film Battle of the Year would do much more than meet its rather small projected gross for the weekend. It was not even able to do that, however, and its counterpart in the new releases this weekend was the only one to pull its predicted earnings.

Weekend Box Office Report: ‘Insidious Chapter 2’ and ‘The Family’ Get Lucky

5:30 PM 9/15/2013 by Logan Falk
Insidious Chapter 2
All signs pointed to this being a sleepy weekend in theaters—there were two films coming out, neither of which saw a lot of hype (or even a decent critical review), and neither of which were expected to pull in big revenues. However, both films came out swinging, and earned far above their predicted grosses.

Weekend Box Office Report: No Unknowns, No Surprises—‘Riddick’ Tops Charts

4:15 PM 9/8/2013 by Logan Falk
Given that Riddick was the sole film to open in theaters this weekend, and had little competition from releases of previous weeks, it’s no shock that Vin Diesel and David Twohy’s latest collaboration was able to handily pull in the largest gross over the weekend.

Weekend Box Office Report: ‘One Direction’ Conquers the Box Office

One Direction: This is Us
If someone had told you that a documentary about One Direction would be the film to top the charts over the weekend, knocking two other releases out of the park, you probably wouldn’t believe it. If you were told that an indie film also beat out the other two new releases, you definitely wouldn’t buy it.

Weekend Box Office Report: 'The Butler' Continues to Rule the Charts

The Butler
Despite some surprisingly positive reviews coming in for some of this weekend’s new releases, nobody expected any of them to be destined for any large revenues. It came as no surprise, then, when one of last week’s releases had no trouble sitting comfortably at the top of the box office charts once again.

Weekend Box Office Report: New Releases Get Served By ‘The Butler’

4:33 PM 8/18/2013 by Logan Falk
The Butler
Of the four new releases duking it out over the lion’s share of the weekend revenues—a sequel to a successful graphic novel-turned-movie, a biography of a digital age icon, a drama about murderous billionaires, and a political drama based on historical fact—few would’ve expected the political drama to top the box office charts.

Weekend Box Office Report: ‘Elysium’ Rides High

3:59 PM 8/11/2013 by Logan Falk
Much like the idyllic space station that is the film’s subject matter, Elysium soared high above the other new releases on the box office charts this weekend. Its lead was not substantial, however, as the rest of this weekend’s new releases came in right behind it.
