TRON: Legacy grossed only $400 million on a reported $170 million budget and didn’t sell a lot of toys either, which left plans of a third TRON movie — tentatively titled TRON: Ascension — up in the air. Back in 2011 when we interviewed director Joseph Kosinski, he said TRON 3 would move forward “if we can come up with the right story and a good reason to return.” A year later it was reported Garrett Hedlund was signed to return, and then Olivia Wilde was reportedly attached as of two years ago.

For over a century now, Disney has been at the forefront of children’s entertainment, bringing a host of movie classics to the big screen for the viewing pleasure of millions across the globe. Now taking on live-action adaptations of some of its most beloved releases, Disney has seen success in Maleficent, The Jungle Book and Cinderella, and look to continue riding that wave with the upcoming release of Beauty and the Beast. The studio also plans to put together a movie focusing on the villain of the 101 Dalmatians series with Cruella.

Way back in the spring, we learned that Disney XD would bring back the superhero team Big Hero 6 in their own animated series. At the time, all we knew was that it would pick up shortly after the events of the first film and the series would be executive produced by Kim Possible creators Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley along with another Kim Possible vet, Nicholas Filippi, who’ll serve as supervising director.
