Top Gun 2 is back on at Paramount. The studio has hired Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li's Justin Marks to work on the script. The 22 Jump Street sequel is a go, with Rodney Rothman writing the script. No word if Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will return to direct.

Street Fighter Writer to Script Top Gun 2 Scribe Justin Marks (Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li) has been recruited to write Top Gun 2 for Paramount and Skydance, with Tom Cruise back to star in the sequel to his 1986 film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marks is tackling the project after completing his remake of The Jungle Book for Disney (which stars Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson and Idris Elba). Veteran filmmaker Jerry Bruckheimer is returning to produce the sequel for Paramount, after the recent dissolution of his relationship with Disney.
