Jerry Bruckheimer has said that the long-awaited sequel to Top Gun would involve drones. In 1986, Maverick (Tom Cruise) was the hottest top gun in the skies, so now we have to wonder if Maverick is still the top gun against drones. Jerry Bruckheimer settled the debate for me even before the movie has started production. "Well, I think he can think on his feet where the drones can't," Bruckheimer said.

Well, take our breath away: the long-in-the-works Top Gun sequel, thought to be lost in director Tony Scott's untimely death, is still very much in development -- at least according to producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who sounded downright defiant in his remarks at the recent Produced By conference. "For 30 years we’ve been trying to make a sequel and we’re not going to stop," insisted Bruckheimer.
