Night and Day: "Dredd 3D" Scores 95% on Rotten Tomatoes

When Sylvester Stallone first donned the helmet for the comic book adaptation “Judge Dredd” in 1995, the sci-fi actioner was critically panned and tanked at the box office. On Rotten Tomatoes, it currently has a Dredd-ful score of just 15%. At the box office, it only managed $34.7M at a budget of $90M.

Yesterday, “The Bourne Legacy” was borderline Fresh at 61% on the Tomatometer with 45 reviews. I was wondering if this Jeremy Renner starring reboot could hold on. I guess not because, today, it’s back down to 50% with 119 reviews. This is where it’ll probably settle.

Earlier in the week, “The Bourne Legacy” debuted on Rotten Tomatoes with 50% on the Tomatometer after six reviews. Its Facebook rankings tanked for a couple of days afterwards.

One of the things I like about watching movies at film festivals is that my opinions are usually not affected by reviews from other critics. I don’t inadvertently see their reactions on twitter or read about them on the news. I can form my own untainted opinions on films because I’m watching it at the same that most critics are watching it.
