'Pacific Rim 2' Confirmed for April 7, 2017

They took their sweet time about it, but Universal and Legendary have finally gotten their acts together and pressed the button on a sequel to Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim, with a scheduled release date of April 7, 2017. Del Toro will be back, of course, and has promised fans, "We are happy to be bringing you more Jaegers, more Kaijus, kicking each other’s butts."

If you just can't wait to see Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim...well, we can't help you; you'll have to get in line on July 12, just like everyone else. But even if we won't be getting a look at the finished film anytime soon, we can take consolation in the slew of new images recently released by USA Today.
