Marvel has found a new writer for Doctor Strange Marvel's Doctor Strange adaptation continues to move forwards apace, with Deadline reporting that the studio is in negotiations to bring John Spaihts on board to rewrite the script. The studio recently filled the director's chair with Scott Derrickson, and is now looking to Spaihts to submit a new draft of the script, after initial work by Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer.

If there are any doubts that a Doctor Strange movie is coming, Marvel's president Kevin Feige has put those to rest. He told MTV that Doctor Strange is "definitely" one of the movies in the studio's third phase plans.

Based on one of Marvel Comics' titles, Doctor Strange tells the story how a selfish doctor named Stephen Strange learned compassion while transforming into the most powerful sorcerer on Earth. The script is written by Joshua Oppenheimer and Thomas Dean Donnelly.


'Doctor Strange' Script Completed – When last we heard about Marvel Studios and their planned adaptation of the cult comic book series Doctor Strange, Patrick Dempsey was lobbying to win the title role. Not much has come of that in the last ten months, and there has been little news about the project.
