Judd Apatow plans to make a sequel to This is 40 following his kids to college

This is 40 – Judd Apatow's sort of sequel to KNOCKED UP, THIS IS 40, may get a sort of sequel itself in another few years. The director mentioned in an interview that he would like to revisit the characters played by his daughters in both of those movies as they continue to grow up.

Weekend Box Office Report: The Final Weekend of 2012

Django Unchained
In this last weekend of the year, the last week’s releases had a far better time in the box office than many of the new releases of the last few months; 2012’s Christmas releases especially made an impressive debut in the box office this last weekend.

Deleted Scene from THIS IS 40 Starring Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann, Robert Smigel, and Annie Mumolo

This is 40 – A deleted scene from This Is 40 has been released online. The film is a spin-off of Knocked Up and follows married couple Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann) as they deal with marriage and family. I'm surprised this scene was cut since it's emblematic of the film: it's intermittently funny, it goes on way too long, and it's mostly the actors riffing on a topic intended to be too blunt for the audience to handle (Anal sex in a handicapped bathroom stall!

Weekend Box Office Report: New Releases Have a Tough Weekend

Jack Reacher
This last week saw several new releases of varying genres (and, unfortunately, of varying ratings); it is unsurprising, then, that their box office performance is also decidedly varied. Remaining at the top of the charts is The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, earning $36.7 million this weekend for an impressive total of over $149.8 million so far (numbers from Box Office Mojo).

'Hobbit' wins second weekend with $36.7 mil; pic nears $150 mil domestic cume over holiday frame – Warner Bros.' "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" claimed its second Stateside B.O. win -- with an estimated $36.7 million, down 57%, for a domestic cume of nearly $150 million -- again showcasing the strength of the Christmas play period... Paramount's Tom Cruise actioner "Jack Reacher" led the newcomers, with an estimated $15.6 million in three days, followed by Universal's Judd Apatow R-rated laffer "This Is 40," which collected $12 million. 8 years 17 weeks ago via brucelee

Holiday Box Office: Tom Cruise's 'Reacher,' Judd Apatow's 'This is 40' No Match For 'Hobbit'

The Hobbit – Barbra Streisand-Seth Rogen comedy "Guilt Trip" still faltering; at the specialty box office, Kathryn Bigelow's Osama bin Laden pic "Zero Dark Thirty" continues to impress. 8 years 17 weeks ago via theothersenhman

FIRST BOX OFFICE: Tom Cruise's 'Jack Reacher' #2, Judd Apatow's 'This Is 40' #4

Jack Reacher – FRIDAY 5:30 PM: Just a shortie for now. Remember that all these pre-Christmas movie openings will be helped tremendously by the holiday multiple gift from Santa. Domestic box office looks like this: 1. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (New Line/MGM/Warner Bros) Week 2 in 4,100 theaters. Still the big #1.

New Releases 12-21
Several new releases (and one somewhat-new release) open in theaters this week following the long-awaited advent of first movie in the Hobbit franchise. One of these releases is Judd Apatow’s This is 40, a quasi-sequel to Knocked Up. The film shows the couple from Knocked Up several years later, coping with the hectic day-to-day struggle of parenting, with many a raunchy joke along the way.

Review: 'This Is 40' (But It Feels Like So Much Less)

This Is 40
It has a terrific cast and a rich premise. So why doesn't This Is 40 feel like much of a movie?

Review: This Is 40 (As they tell young ladies: Temper Your Expectations)

This is 40
Less like its prequel (Knocked Up) and more like Funny People, This is 40 chooses pathos over punch lines to tell the story of a loving but dispassionate couple turning 40 and writhing in anxiety.
