Weekend Box Office Report: ‘Transformers’ Takes the Weekend By Storm

Transformers: Age of Extinction
Critics can lament the utter lack of quality in this film (and any other, for that matter) all that they want, but if anything can be learned from how this weekend’s charts played out, it’s this: a lack of quality can be utterly negated by enough hype and notoriety in this film industry.

Jon Favreau Says Marvel Didn't Have Much Faith In Robert Downey Jr As IRON MAN .   Jon Favreau was the lucky man to direct the first to Iron Man films, but was also the man to persuade Marvel into casting Robert Downey Jr as the titular character, something that has went on to become one of the greatest casting choices of all time. It's difficult to imagine seeing anyone else in the role, but believe it or not Marvel Studios didn't have a tough time picturing someone different in the role, but when they were convinced of Robert Downey Jr, they knew that they struck gold.

Think Like a Man Too
With this weekend’s releases receiving such mediocre reviews, it looked like it would be a good weekend for the more popular holdover films. However, one of the new releases still managed to make its way to the top, despite all the criticism leveled at it. Still, it was a narrow thing—the holdover films were not far behind.

Box Office: 'Think Like A Man Too' gives Kevin Hart another no. 1 in 2014 "Think Like A Man Too" topped the the box office with $30 million and became Kevin Hart's second no. 1 of 2014. Clint Eastwood's "Jersey Boys" came in fourth with just $13 million.http://www.hitfix.com

Think Like a Man Too Review

IGN Movies - Fri, 2014-06-20 17:00

Think Like a Man Too Review Director Tim Story returns for another relationship romp with the returning cast of Think Like a Man, this time for a night of debauchery in Las Vegas for the wedding of Michael (Terrence Jenkins) and Candace (Regina Hall). Along with the wedding, of course, comes the bachelor and bachelorette parties. As you might expect, things go awry and relationships are challenged. It’s probably obvious that there’s nothing unique here; there are dozens of “crazy nights in Vegas” movies and there will be dozens more to come.

Jersey Boys
This weekend looks like it’s going to be a box office combo breaker—the streak of highly-anticipated summer releases meeting with great reviews and huge earnings will be broken by this weekend’s pair of mediocrely-rated, less well-known releases. Still, in the movie biz, anything is possible; perhaps these films will surprise us.

Review: Think Like a Man Too PLOT: The sequel to the successful film inspired by Steve Harvey's book, the couples from the last one are back, this time planning a wedding in Las Vegas and getting into trouble. REVIEW: PG-13-rated fun in Las Vegas can only go so far, as THINK LIKE A MAN TOO proves time and time again. A toothless comedy aiming to barely break even on the entertainment budget, the film merely exists to live off the... Read More...

Critics Consensus: Think Like a Man Too Craps Out

rottentomatoes.com – This week at the movies, we've got a wild Vegas weekend (Think Like a Man Too, starring Michael Ealy and Kevin Hart), a legendary vocal group (Jersey Boys, starring John Lloyd Young and Vincent Piazza), and a deadly road trip Down Under (The Rover, starring Robert Pattinson and Guy Pearce).

Say what you will about “Showgirls,” at least that unjustly maligned film acknowledged that Las Vegas has a seedy underbelly. You'd never know that from “Think Like a Man Too,” which opens by describing Sin City as “Disneyland for adults” before devoting most of its running time to loving shots of blackjack tables at Planet Hollywood, glitzy villas and cabanas at Caesars (the $40,000-a-night “Constantine Suite” alone gets name-checked about two dozen times), and the fountains at the Bellagio.
