Last night, “The Transporter Refueled” received a modest $365K from action fans, according to Variety. Whenever these evening screening figures are less than a million, it’s nothing to write home about. The trade publication uses another Luc Besson production, “3 Days to Kill,” as a comparison. The Kevin Costner vehicle pulled in $325K in evening screenings and ended up with a weekend sum of $12M, a respectable opening for Costner nowadays.

I wasn’t expecting much from “The Transporter Refueled.” What’s a “Transporter” movie without Jason Statham? Not much, I thought. I was biased because I like Statham in those films. Although after three of them, I wasn’t asking for another one, but still, if he cranks out more of them, I wouldn’t mind watching. Apparently, “The Transporter Refueled” is a reboot.

Frank Martin (played by newcomer Ed Skrein), a former special-ops mercenary, is now living a less perilous life - or so he thinks - transporting classified packages for questionable people. When Frank's father (Ray Stevenson) pays him a visit in the south of France, their father-son bonding weekend takes a turn for the worse when Frank is engaged by a cunning femme-fatale, Anna (Loan Chabanol), and her three seductive sidekicks to orchestrate the bank heist of the century.
