Identity Theft
Despite the disparity between their critical receptions, both of last week’s releases managed to make a respectable showing for themselves at the box office this weekend.

Weekend Box Office Report: ‘Warm Bodies’ Ascends Charts, ‘Bullet to the Head’ Beaten By Holdouts

Warm Bodies
The box office grosses played out very predictably this weekend; this meant good news for one of this last week’s releases, and not-so-good news for the other. Warm Bodies made the top of the box office chart with a total gross of a little over $20 million (numbers courtesy of Box Office Mojo); given that its ratings were probably better than those of the last two weeks’ other releases combined, this is hardly surprising.

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters
As badly as this last week’s new releases were received, they made a fairly good showing of themselves this weekend.

Weekend Box Office Report: 'Mama' Tops Charts, Releases 'Broken City' and 'The Last Stand' Fall Behind Holdouts

Mama
This weekend proved very lucrative for one of last week’s releases, but a little disappointing for the other two films, sad to say. Mama came out on top this weekend, earning over $28.1 million (a considerable amount greater than its projected range of $18.5-$20 million), spiting many critics that claimed the film was underdeveloped in terms of scripting.

Golden Globes
Um...I'm live-blogging the Golden Goldens because Binh told me he doesn't get NBC where he lives. Whatever. Well, we tag-teamed live-blogging the Oscars last year and got a huge traffic boost, so that's my reason doing the same with the Golden Globes this time. Just like last year, it's all a last minute thing.

Critics Choice Awards Spread The Love Around, Name 'Argo' Best Picture

movieline.com – On the heels of this morning's surprising and not-so-surprising Oscar nominations, the Broadcast Film Critics Association handed their Critics Choice Awards to a rather familiar bunch as Lincoln, Silver Linings Playbook, Argo, Zero Dark Thirty, and Skyfall nabbed multiple major honors. In fact, the BFCA, an organization comprised of TV, radio, and online journalists, spread the love around to cover just about every Oscar favorite and token consolation prize there is. 7 years 37 weeks ago via theothersenhman
