The New Mutants News

THE NEW MUTANTS: The Version Coming To Theaters In August Is The Same One Test Audiences Saw In 2017 The New Mutants has been hit by delay after delay and, believe it or not, was actually shot back in 2017. Initially scheduled for an April 13th, 2018 debut, it was pushed back several times before Disney (who had acquired Twentieth Century Fox by that point) scheduled it for earlier this year.  The COVID-19 pandemic changed things yet again, though, but we now know that the Marvel movie will reach theaters - assuming they're open - this summer.

‘The New Mutants’ Images Reveal a Giant Demon Bear and Other Weird Villains Remember The New Mutants? The movie that has been pushed from one release date to the next, only to have the coronavirus pandemic sideline it indefinitely? Well, sooner or later we’ll get to see the damn thing, but for now, let’s make do with new images. These pics lean into the fantastical/horror elements of the film, and do a great job distinguishing it from previous X-Men-related flicks. I don’t pretend to understand the inner workings of movie executive minds, but it seems genuinely odd that The New Mutants hasn’t been released on VOD at this point.

The New Mutants was supposed to be released last month, but the COVID-19 pandemic delayed it (for what feels like the umpteenth time), and we now have no idea when we'll see it!

It seems like every other hour brings us news of yet another TV or film production being halted in the wake of concerns about the coronavirus (aka COVID-19). The latest comes from Netflix, which has decided to halt production on all film and TV productions in the US and Canada. That includes Stranger Things, which just started shooting its fourth season. Not even the Upside Down is immune from the coronavirus. Stranger Things is shutting down production, along with every other Netflix film and scripted TV show in the United States and Canada.

JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION Halts Production Due To Coronavirus Pandemic; Teaser Poster & Composer Revealed It was reported late last night that, due to the coronavirus pandemic, Universal Pictures had decided to halt production indefinitely on all currently filming live-action projects, including Jurassic World: Dominion, the Ice Cube-fronted boxing drama Flint Strong and an untitled Judd Apatow-produced comedy starring Billy Eichner (Parks and Recreation). Principal photography had only just begun on the Colin Trevorrow-directed Jurassic World: Dominion a few weeks back in Hawaii before moving to London where it was expected to complete the majority of its shooting schedule.

Disney Puts Mulan and New Mutants Release Dates on Indefinite Hold Amidst the growing concern over coronavirus, Disney has delayed several major releases, including Mulan.

THE FLASH Has Reportedly Been Forced To Halt Production On Season 6 Due To Coronavirus Outbreak Earlier this week, it was quietly revealed that Riverdale had suspended production of its fourth season in Vancouver, Canada, after a "team member" was in contact with someone who later tested positive for Covid-19. Now, though, the impact is being felt even further than that as The Flash has also suspended production on season six as of today.  We don't have any details beyond that, but The 100 has also halted filming of its series finale. Will other Warner Bros. TV shows be forced to do the same?
