Ridley Scott to Produce New Film From 'The Martian' Author Andy Weir The Martian was easily one of Ridley Scott’s better films in recent years, thanks in part to Andy Weir’s solid source material. It seems as though Scott has grown quite fond of the author, as the pair are reuniting for another film project based on a new, original pitch from Weir. 20th Century Fox's The Martian, which starred Academy Award-winner Matt Damon (Jason Bourne) in the lead, was one of the biggest critical and commercial successes of 2015. The film earned seven Academy Award nominations, including nominations for Best Picture & Best Actor, and three Golden Globe nominations, which resulted in two wins.

"Strange Visitor From Another Planet" - Kara must help Hank face his painful past when a White Martian, a member of the alien race that wiped out his people, kidnaps Senator Miranda Crane (Tawny Cypress), an anti-alien politician. Also, Cat’s estranged son, Adam (Blake Jenner), arrives in National City, on SUPERGIRL, Monday, January 25th on CBS.  

The latest Honest Trailer from the folks at Screen Junkies focuses on the movie The Martian. In it Matt Damon plays an astronaut that gets left behind Home Alone style on Mars and must use all his knowledge (and some he shouldn’t have) to survive just in case someone comes back for him. ‘The Martian’ Honest Trailer: Matt Damon Periscopes Everything on Mars One of the favorites of critics and audiences alike in 2015 was The Martian, starring Matt Damon. The movie hits Blu-ray and DVD next week, so there’s no better time for the Honest Trailer to skewer the space survival story that makes us spend even more money to rescue Matt Damon from space (which has happened a little more often than you may remember).

It’s lonely up in space, but at least there are good movies to watch. Hot on the heels of getting to be among the first to watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the current residents of the International Space Station will be getting a bevy of new film options to get them through the holidays. Back in September, astronauts aboard the ISS were treated to an advanced screening of Ridley Scott’s The Martian. That was no surprise, given that the movie is practically a feature-length commercial for NASA.
