Wait, "The Impossible" Made $172M Worldwide?!

As I was writing about the Chinese box office, where “The Impossible” debuted with a decent $4.7M, I did a double take at its worldwide gross at BoxOfficeMojo.com. It’s a staggering $172M. I only remembered the film as an indie movie that did indie biz in the U.S. and garnered Naomi Watts an Oscar nomination last year.
