'Real Steel' defended title, remains box office champ

Real Steel, the robot boxing movie starring Hugh Jackman, remained box office champion by taking in an estimated $16.3 million over the three days weekend. It barely edged out the Footloose remake, which took in an estimated $16.1 million, by a mere $200k.

With only two wide releases this weekend, the number one position at the box office is either going to Hugh Jackman's Real Steel or George Clooney's The Ides of March. It isn't a fair fight really. Where as Clooney's The Ides of March is rated R, Jackman's Real Steel is rated a family friendly PG-13, so the money is on Real Steel to be on top.
