The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death
Binh and I ran down the list of the top films at last weekend’s figures. The majority of the top films experienced drop-offs of 30%-50%. I was thinking the New Year’s Weekend would hold up better, but a glance at BoxOfficeMojo.com proved me wrong. We were right on the mark in our prediction with the week’s only wide release, “The Woman in Black 2:

Another one in the can. Peter Jackson’s “The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies” journeyed to the top of the box office again. Angelina Jolie’s “Unbroken” did surprisingly well. Family films “Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb” and “Annie” both did better than their opening weekend. Towards the end, there’s some fireworks between Binh and I.

But one fan, Alex Luthor, has decided to mash-up both of the comic book worlds into an epic trailer (via Toybox). With some clever editing, this is one fantastic, epic trailer that now makes me want the impossible.

BOX OFFICE: THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES Takes Aim At $85M+ Weekend After opening this past Wednesday, Peter Jackson's conclusion to his Hobbit trilogy already reached $16.6 million by Friday, but combine that with an expected $54 million this weekend, and it's marched straight to the top of the North American box office with around $88 million. These numbers come courtesy of Variety, and while the estimates on some sites are slightly lower, this is still more than initial predictions of $80 million or less.

Scroll down below to check out my spoiler-free thoughts on the plot, the characters, action and more! By now, most of you know that the film is shorter than any of the other films in Peter Jackson's Middle-Earth universe. So with a final battle around 45 minutes long, you already know that the plot is pretty weak compared to the previous films.
