David Fincher Apparently Thinks 'Dragon Tattoo' Sequel 'The Girl Who Played With Fire' Could Still Get Made

fb.indiewire.com – With "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For" a colossal bomb last month, it's an instructive lesson to Hollywood that what may have captured the zeitgeist years ago, may not resonate later. David Fincher's "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo," based on the bestselling book that everyone read, came on the heels of the Swedish language trilogy with brought Noomi Rapace to the attention of Hollywood. 5 years 10 weeks ago via brucelee

Rooney Mara on 'The Girl Who Played with Fire': 'I'm Not Getting Any Younger'

screenrant.com – It’s nearly two full years since David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo hit theaters and we’ve still yet to see much movement on the sequel, The Girl who Played with Fire. She doesn’t look a day older since portraying Lisbeth Salander in the 2011 release, but Rooney Mara does have a point – she’s not getting any younger.

'Dragon Tattoo' Sequel Gets a Rewrite; David Fincher's '20,000 Leagues' is Dead

screenrant.com – David Fincher faced a dilemma, after he finished the English-language version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo: should be press ahead with the followup, The Girl Who Played with Fire - possibly shooting it back-to-back with the adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s third Millennium novel, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest - or, should he instead pursue another project, like his gestating 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea adaptation over at Disney? 6 years 18 weeks ago via jetli

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo didn't become the huge box office hit Sony wanted, but it did decent enough that a sequel can be made if the studio wanted to, if at a lower cost.

Daniel Craig Talks SKYFALL, SNL, Roger Deakins, THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO Sequel, and More

Daniel Craig
collider.com – At the recent New York press day for Skyfall, I was able to speak with Daniel Craig. We talked about how this is a very grounded and realistic Bond film without the crazy gadgets, what it was like to work with Roger Deakins, was he more nervous to do Bond at the Olympics or host Saturday Night Live, what was the first thing he ate after they wrapped, how proud he is of Skyfall, and more.

Daniel Craig Wants David Fincher Back For 'Dragon Tattoo' Sequel,' But Is That Realistic?

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
fb.indiewire.com – On a normal movie franchise timetable, “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” series is running behind schedule. If this were Marvel for example, the sequel would have been announced as the film was entering theaters or a few months afterwards. But brooding, dark, decidedly for-adults-only material and not four-quadrant broad like most ideal tentpoles, “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” is not your average would-be franchise. 7 years 4 weeks ago via jetli

'Girl Who Played With Fire' Update: David Fincher Still Figuring it Out

screenrant.com – While it’s not a given that David Fincher will return to the director’s chair for The Girl Who Played with Fire - sequel to last year’s Girl with the Dragon Tattoo American remake – it’s long been assumed he would. After a moderately successful release – the film barely broke even domestically and made a solid push overseas – Sony Pictures is moving ahead with their adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s second book, but trouble with the film’s script is still holding it back.
