Weekend Box Office Report: ‘The Croods’ and ‘Olympus’ Lead New Releases
1:34 PM 3/24/2013 by Logan Falk
This weekend’s box office numbers played out pretty predictably, according to the ratings and predicted grosses of the films—this proved to be great news for some of last week’s releases, and not-so-great news for others.
The Croods topped the charts this weekend, earning a hefty sum of $44.7 million; when it comes down to what kind of movie earns the most in the box office, it seems that you can’t beat a decent family film.

This weekend’s box office turnout yielded a bit of a surprise for this last week’s new releases—whether or not this was a good surprise certainly depends on who you ask.
What didn’t come as a surprise was the continued success of Oz: The Great and Powerful, which earned another $42.2 million over the weekend, for a tidy sum of $145 million so far.

Halle Berry Talks THE CALL, Her Favorite Thrillers, X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, and More
collider.com –
Brad Anderson’s The Call, a particularly fine little thriller in the doldrums of March, sports a welcome return for thriller-maven Halle Berry. Sure Berry is a so-called ‘serious actor’; but in between her “Things We Lost In The Fire” and “Monster’s Ball”, she has a penchant for mixing it up with decidedly and proudly ‘B’ pictures.

Remember "Rescue 911"? In the era before the glut of reality shows, it was a precursor of sorts, a program that offered up re-enactments of real life situations and emergencies, all narrated and given gravitas by the show's host, William Shatner. And if you ever wondered what a big screen version of that might be, "The Call" seems to come pretty close.
