Jeremy Renner replaces Matt Damon as the face of the Bourne franchise, but The Bourne Legacy is not a direct sequel to 2007's The Bourne Ultimatum even though it has the same name as the fourth novel in the series. It's more accurate to call it a spinoff.

Yesterday, “The Bourne Legacy” was borderline Fresh at 61% on the Tomatometer with 45 reviews. I was wondering if this Jeremy Renner starring reboot could hold on. I guess not because, today, it’s back down to 50% with 119 reviews. This is where it’ll probably settle.
