Suspiria remake News

A quartet of sinister Suspiria posters tease the upcoming horror remake Over forty years later, Dario Argento's SUSPIRIA still holds its own as a surprisingly effective psychedelic horror film, so it was only inevitable that the masterpiece would board the remake train. However, Luca Guadagnino (CALL ME BY YOUR NAME) considers his take on SUSPIRIA to be more of an homage than a straight up remake, saying that he immediately started to dream about making his own version of... Fans of Dario Argento's SUSPIRIA weren't exactly pleased to learn that a remake of the psychedelic horror film was being considered, but with production on the Luca Guadagnino directed remake wrapping up earlier this year, it's just something we're going to have to accept. The upcoming remake of horror classic Suspiria will be something totally different. The original Suspiria was directed by Italian horror maestro Dario Argento and tells the story of an American student arriving at a German dance academy, and slowly realizing it’s run by a witch. The story takes second place to the film’s rich Technicolor visuals, Goblin’s memorable score and the ultra-gory murder setpieces. The film is rightly considered Argento’s finest moment, and fans of Suspiria are doubtful a new version could even approach the haunting atmosphere of the original.

Exclusive: Dario Argento on 'Dracula 3D' and Potential 'Suspiria' Remakes

So it was with great admiration - and some trepidation (because I knew his English wasn’t very good and I failed out of college Italian) - that I set about to interview Argento for his newest film, Dracula 3D. 6 years 38 weeks ago via theothersenhman
