Awaiting the release of Star Wars, the box office was at a lull this weekend, seeing low numbers amidst holdover and unappealing new releases.
For the fourth consecutive week, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 finished at #1. The film brought in $11.3 million over the weekend to raise its domestic total to $244.4 million. Mockingjay is only the second film this year to come on top for four straight weeks (the other being Furious 7), showing that even though the numbers have been down for this installment, there’s still sizable interest in the property.

Casting the title role in Steve Jobs was no easy task â in part because the late Apple co-founder still looms large in the popular consciousness, and in part because of how thoroughly the character dominates the film.
During the movieâs closely covered development process, such big-name...

It was a bleak Friday at the box office.
Universal’s Oscar hopeful “Steve Jobs” sputtered in its wide expansion, three other wide openers tanked and the “Paranormal Activity” franchise finale’s grosses were gutted by a protest by angry theater owners in a busy Friday at the box office.
That left Sony’s Jack Black horror comedy “Goosebumps” and Matt Damon‘s “The Martian” to battle for No.

I’ve rarely felt this annoyed in a movie theater. Next to me, during a screening of Steve Jobs, an elderly couple loudly whispers comments to each other every few minutes. With each line of dialogue they distract me from basking in, the more frustrated I grow. I’m afraid to ask them to keep quiet — not because I care how they’ll react, but out of fear of missing another line from the movie. Aaron Sorkin writes anti-bathroom break movies.
