'Angry Birds' Announces Voice Cast

If there were any doubt that Sony's pursuing a comedic angle with its upcoming animated adaptation of Rovio's wildly popular Angry Birds game, today's announcement that the voice cast has been thoroughly stocked with comedy stars should put it safely to rest. Led by Saturday Night Live vet Jason Sudeikis and co-starring a number of his former co-stars, including Maya Rudolph and Bill Hader, the production certainly seems like it's after the laugh factor.

‘Angry Birds’ Movie Gets All-Star Cast Led By Jason Sudeikis; Plus First Photo Much as an infuriated avian might send its own body crashing into a structure to get to some evil swine, Sony is throwing a very funny voice cast at its Angry Birds movie to win over the skeptics. Jason Sudeikis has just been announced for the lead part of Red, with Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Bill Hader, Maya Rudolph, and Peter Dinklage all set for co-starring roles. And those are just the major players — there about ten more notable names in smaller roles as well.

We’ve heard vague details about the R-rated animated movie, but Seth Rogen recently talked about the project and revealed new details about how seriously crazy this film is. Find out, after the jump.
