San Andreas: 3D News
James Wan, creator and director of the hugely successful Saw franchise, released Malignant Man – a four-issue comic book series – in 2011. The science-fiction thriller revolves around Alan Gates, a cancer patient with a terminal diagnosis, who helplessly resigns to his fate – until he discovers that his tumorous growth is not in fact cancer, but rather a mysterious alien parasite responsible for supplying him supernatural powers.

A sequel to 2015’s “San Andreas” is in the works at New Line, TheWrap has learned.
Neil Widener and Gavin James will write the script for the film. “San Andreas” followed rescue-chopper pilot Raymond Gaines (Dwayne Johnson) as he tried to save his family from the mass destruction of a gigantic earthquake that hit California. The disaster movie grossed over $473 million worldwide last year.
Johnson is set to return for the sequel, as is producer Beau Flynn and director Brad Peyton.
This year, many movie studios are deciding not to show off their upcoming projects at Comic-Con, which kicks off in San Diego next month. Marvel, Sony, and Paramount are all skipping the event, each for slightly different reasons. As reports have indicated, Sony and Paramount decided that they don’t have enough “fanboy material” that would be worth the hundreds of thousands of dollars it costs to put on such a presentation.

Decent start for Spy, enough to beat San Andreas to the top, but not by much, while Insidious Chapter 3 opened in 3rd. Spy brought in $29.1 million for Fox, which for star Melissa McCarthy is ahead of Tammy‘s $21.6 million debut but behind that of The Heat, $39.1 million. Reviews are very strong for […]

Violent shaking, swirling winds, billowing smoke, and that’s just inside the movie theater. Since the opening of the United States’ first 4DX theater in Los Angeles, CA last year, there really hasn’t been quite as perfect a marriage of experience and material as that theater and San Andreas. Where a film like Transformers: Age of Extinction certainly works in 4DX, San Andreas is about characters being in an environment that moves around.
