MGM scored a casting coup when they hired Oscar-winner Javier Bardem to play the bad guy in Skyfall, and now it sounds like they're close to pulling off another one with the 24th entry in the well-traveled James Bond franchise: Variety reports that Chiwetel Ejiofor is the frontrunner for the job.
variety.com – After scoring big with Javier Bardem as its last Bond villain, MGM and Sony may be targeting another Oscar-nominated actor to play 007′s nemesis in the next James Bond pic. bleedingcool.com – Just one day after a fake Bond 24 trailer suckered the film blogosphere, some actual – if slight – information has come to light. Production of the next James Bond movie is set for October this year, but the script is still being worked on, screenwriter John Logan said. I've been working very closely with Sam (Mendes), and it’s been joyous to pick up from our work on Skyfall and just continue on with the storytelling."

The Bond franchise is a huge machine that moves slowly, so even though we know Daniel Craig is returning to active duty as 007 in the franchise's next installment, we don't know -- and shouldn't expect to hear for some time -- anything about the direction Bond 24 might go, we'll still take a few tidbits from Craig himself.
comingsoon.net – This summer brought the announcement that Daniel Craig would be coming back for another round as James Bond in the 24th film in the series, set to be released in November of 2015. Little is known about the film but, given the ending of 2012's Skyfall , fans have theorized that the series could go back to its roots with a tale similarly structured to some of the older entries in the franchise. 33 weeks 2 days ago via jetli
