Gravity
As expected, the two über-highly rated films of the last two weeks took the lion’s share of earnings in the box office over the weekend, and now stand proudly at the top of the charts this weekend. Accordingly, this week’s less well-received release, and the remaining holdover films, did much less well.

Rumor: Ben Affleck's Editor Tried To Save 'Runner Runner' But Did WB Want To Soften The Movie?

fb.indiewire.com – Last week, "Runner Runner" dropped into theaters, promising the team-up of Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck -- with the latter playing a rare villain role -- in a thriller about online gambling gone awry. Stars? Check. Hot subject matter? Sure. But it didn't add up to a hit, with the movie crushed in the wake of "Gravity," opening to just over $7 million and earning scathing reviews to go with it. 6 years 5 weeks ago via brucelee

Weekend Box Office Report: 'Gravity' Attracts Huge Money

Gravity
This weekend is a story in exceeding expectations for this last Friday’s batch of new releases—the highly-rated Gravity earned above even its high projected gross for the weekend, and the slightly less highly-rated Runner Runner somehow managed to earn below its meager predicted range.

Gravity
This weekend promises some very grave (I’m sorry, some puns you just can’t pass up) viewing for those brave enough to go see today’s new releases. Both are suspenseful, dark dramas, albeit with very different subject matter and—isn’t this always the case?—overall quality.

New Trailer for RUNNER RUNNER Starring Justin Timberlake, Gemma Arterton, and Ben Affleck

collider.com – A new trailer has been released for Runner Runner, and I can't decide what the funniest thing about it is. Is it that the plot—Justin Timberlake playing a guy who falls in with bad people after being swindled in online poker—seems like it should be a movie from the mid-2000s?
