Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels in "Dumb and Dumber To"
Binh and I have been doing these weekly podcast for several weeks now. We talk, discuss, and debate the weekly box office. This week, it’s “Dumb and Dumber To” vs. the two holdovers from last week, “Big Hero 6” and “Interstellar.” Both of us way underestimated how well the Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels sequel would do. We debated about whether or not “Gone Girl” would eventually reach $200M at the domestic box office (it’s currently at $153M), “John Wick” would get a sequel, “Nightcrawler” is a success, and much more.

Rosewater
Jon Stewart made his directorial debut with the film Rosewater, the true story of journalist Maziar Bahari’s captivity in Iran. When the film premiered at the Telluride Film Festival, audiences were surprised how much humor the film presents. Bahari is unjustly held for months, but his captors’ misunderstanding of Bahari’s Daily Show appearance and collection of American television shows is rather absurd.
