I Origins is an original script from the Another Earth co-writer and director with Marling playing a supporting role. An adaptation of the book by Joyce Maynard, Labor Day has the potential to be enormous as mommy porn but maligned as Oscarbait. The film had an Academy Qualifying release on December 27th in Los Angeles, but distributor Paramount reportedly forewent the traditional NY screenings for qualification, perhaps owing to the wealth of critic screenings there.
