The Dolby Atmos theater system delivers audio from speakers located on all four wall of the theater and the ceiling, so when you hear rainfall it’s almost like feeling it. When the dragon Smaug galumphs across screen you hear his tail wrap itself around you. When gunfire blazes off a 3D screen past your head, you might just duck.

Gayle Forman’s best-selling novel comes to the screen in New Line Cinema’s and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures’ drama “If I Stay,” starring Chloë Grace Moretz (“Carrie,” the “Kick-Ass” films), Mireille Enos (TV’s “The Killing,” “World War Z”), Joshua Leonard (“Higher Ground”), Jamie Blackley (“Snow White and the Huntsmen”) and Stacy Keach (“Nebraska”).

Squeezing more money out of established properties is a tale as old as time, and one that Disney is eager to add another chapter to following the healthy grosses that greeted last weekend's revisionist take on the Sleeping Beauty story, Maleficent. To that end, the studio is pursuing a live-action version of Beauty of the Beast, and they've reportedly just hired Twilight vet Bill Condon to direct it.

“Coming Home,” the long-awaited reteaming of Zhang Yimou and Gong Li, opened on Friday (it’s already Saturday in China) atop the box office with a solid $4.8M. The drama, set during the tumultuous years of the Cultural Revolution, pushes Marc Webb’s “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” down to second place. The webslinger rolled up $3.2M for the day, upping its total to an amazing $69M after two weeks in release.

Once again, a Mike Cahill/Brit Marling movie premiered at Sundance and Fox Searchlight bought it for distribution. I Origins is an original script from the Another Earth co-writer and director with Marling playing a supporting role. Michael Pitt plays a scientist researching eyes who discovers a possible answer to great mysteries of life itself.
