Film Critic Roger Ebert ended the first paragraph of his review of Hoop Dreams saying that film “gives us the impression of having touched life itself.” There’s a poignant symmetry in the title of Steve James’ newest documentary, Life Itself, about the work of America’s most acclaimed film critic, Chicago Sun Times’ Roger Ebert.

RogerEbert.com, the website of the recently departed film critic Roger Ebert, has relaunched yesterday with a redesign. Gone are the three column format and the light/dark cream color scheme -- those are replaced with a light/grey two column design.
On the left column, the featured review is given the most space with a large picture and an excerpt of the review, and below that are the other new reviews which are given only a pic overlayed with the movie's title and author.

Roger Ebert, the first film critic to win a Pulitzer, passed away on Thursday. He was 70. His death was a surprise to those not close to him because he didn't reveal the severity of his condition when he announced that he was taking a leave of absence from reviewing movies to treat an re-occurrence of cancer.

I'm still shocked and saddened by the news of Roger Ebert's death. I know, I know, he was fighting cancer, and the odds were against him. It's just that it has only been a couple days since he announced his leave of absence.
Also, he had been very active on the internet, writing reviews for the Chicago Sun-Times and updating his blog, Facebook Page, Twitter account, and his newsletter.
