Ever since J.J. Abrams debuted that blink-and-you'll-miss-it clip of Spock in a volcano, we've been wondering how Star Trek Into Darkness would place our favorite Vulcan into seemingly intractable peril. Well, Paramount has just released the first extended clip from the movie, and while it doesn't get into any of that, it does at least give us a longer look at Abrams' Trek sequel -- and of, you know, Spock in a volcano.

Universal Nabs Kurtzman Orci-Developed Sci-Fi Pitch 'Sagittarius'

deadline.com – EXCLUSIVE: Universal Pictures has acquired Sagittarius, an original sci-fi thriller pitch that Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci developed with Steven Karczynski. The script will be written by Karczynski, whose Black List screenplay The Umbra is set at Endgame Entertainment with Martin Campbell attached to direct. The scribe also adapted the Capcom videogame Dark Void for Reliance and Plan B Entertainment.
