‘Maleficent’s Robert Stromberg Now Most Successful In Losing Helming Virginity

With Maleficent reaching $521 million, Robert Stromberg has set the global box office record for the biggest-grossing live-action directing debut. He has toppled Joseph Kosinski, whose first outing Tron Legacy grossed just slightly more than $400 million worldwide. Stromberg far outpaces Rupert Sanders, who came up just short of passing Kosinski when he directed Snow White And The Huntsman, which grossed $396 million.
