Matt Reeves Will Return to Direct 'Planet of the Apes 3'

While Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the followup to 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes, won't be in theaters until this summer, Fox liked what they saw in an early cut and is setting in motion the next sequel by locking up director Matt Reeves, Deadline has learned. Reeves will co-write the script with Mark Bomback, and it is expected they will work on Planet of the Apes 3 after Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is completed.
