Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is headed for a massive $275 million worldwide opening. The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise has always been enormous at the worldwide box office, with the first four films taking in $3.7 billion in total ticket sales. The biggest grosser of those four films was 2006’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest which finished with $1.066 billion, a hair ahead of 2011’s On Stranger Tides which made $1.045 billion.

Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean is one of the most popular franchises of all time, and yet only one out of its four movies are remembered in a positive light.
