Michael Bay's "13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Banghazi
During my weekly podcast with Binh Ngo, I was low on Michael Bay’s “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.” Although Bay loves the military (its soldiers and many gadgets) and can make a highly entertaining action film, I didn’t think his fans care much about Benghazi, the subject of the film.

Arnold Schwarzenegger in "Terminator: Genisys"
When “Terminator: Genisys” disappointed at the domestic box office, opening to a ho-hum $27M a few months ago and looking to finish its run in the low $90M range, there were reports that this was the end of the line for the franchise, and Paramount might have to abandon its plans for two more sequels.

Tom Cruise and Rebecca Ferguson in "Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation"
According to Variety, “Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation” is tracking to open at only $40M at the box office, which would make it the weakest of the Tom Cruise franchise. I’m not counting the previous film “Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol” though because it had a platform release.

The Rock
It's been so long since we've heard any news regarding Paramount's big-screen adaptation of Baywatch that we'd assumed cooler heads had prevailed and the former World's Most Popular TV Show would just stay where it was, collecting dust in the fading memories of anyone who remembers the syndicated TV of the '90s.

Interstellar
Can't wait to see Matthew McConaughey shot into space? Good news: Paramount and Warner Bros. have announced an earlier Interstellar release date for those of us lucky enough to live within driving distance of an IMAX theater: Starting November 5, two days before the movie goes wide, it'll screen in advance showings in 240 locations across the U.S.

Hansel Gretel Witch 2
In case any of you have been holding your breath for a Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters sequel, you might want to let it out and start pinning your hopes on something more reasonable. After hanging around waiting for Paramount and MGM to greenlight the follow-up -- and writing the script -- director Tommy Wirkola has decided to move on to other projects.

Star Trek
Star Trek: The Original Series was a chronicle of the five year mission of the Starship Enterprise “to explore new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before.” The original crew of the Enterprise lasted much more than five years, and while we’ve gotten used to Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and co.

Beverly Hills Cop
Beverly Hills Cop 4 has been rumored since 2007, and was sidelined for a bit when a potential CBS TV series was in the works. The sequel has a fairly definitive 2016 release date now, and producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed he expects to have a shooting script within a month.

Jerry Bruckheimer Tells Us Maverick's Edge Over Drones in Top Gun 2

Top Gun
Jerry Bruckheimer has said that the long-awaited sequel to Top Gun would involve drones. In 1986, Maverick (Tom Cruise) was the hottest top gun in the skies, so now we have to wonder if Maverick is still the top gun against drones. Jerry Bruckheimer settled the debate for me even before the movie has started production. "Well, I think he can think on his feet where the drones can't," Bruckheimer said.

Shredder
Every generation gets the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie it deserves, and thus far, quite a few TMNT fans have felt fairly down in the dumps about Paramount's upcoming attempt to reboot the franchise -- partly due to discomfiting visual evidence, and partly because Michael Bay is producing the whole shebang.
