Watch: New Clip From 'Dredd' Introduces Us To Drug-Filled Housing Project Peach Trees
fb.indiewire.com –
One of the more admirable aspects of "Dredd," the 3D sci-fi actioner set to be released at the end of the month (after it his Midnight Madness at TIFF later this week) is how contained it is. It might be a dystopian extravaganza, but the story takes place in just one building – a huge, derelict housing project with the idyllic moniker of Peach Trees.

Between the talking head clips there’s quite a lot of new clips from Dredd in this featurette. And because you need it, there’s also a primer on the creation and development of the character. And there we had Jason Kingsley saying that “we need” a police force like the Judges and that Dredd does the right thing, followed by Jock identifying the character’s role in fascism.

12:48 PM 7/12/2012 by Binh Ngo
Dredd had its first screening at Comic-Con on Wednesday and the reviews coming out of the event are overwhelmingly positive, which is surprising. I've assemble a couple of the reviews below.
Apparently, the trailers for Dredd didn't do the movie justice, causing people like me to prematurely judge the movie based what's shown in those.
Motion Poster for DREDD Starring Karl Urban, Olivia Thirlby, and Lena Headey
collider.com –
Lionsgate has sent over a motion poster for Pete Travis' upcoming Judge Dredd adaptation, Dredd. The film will hew much closer to the original comics than the awful 1995 Sylvester Stallone film, and the first trailer wasn't too bad (although the plot has the misfortune of resembling The Raid even though Dredd wrapped shooting well before The Raid even hit theaters).
