Ouija Review Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes production company bring the classic board game to life in the new horror movie Ouija. Olivia Cooke stars as Laine, a high school student whose quest to find out what happened to her dead bestie unleashes supernatural fury upon her and her pals. After her lifelong friend Debbie suddenly dies, Laine finds an old Ouija board in the girl's bedroom. She uses the board in an attempt to say goodbye to her friend, but instead encounters the board's resident spirit (who calls itself DZ).

Of all the tenuous tie-in properties pitched by Hasbro over the last few years, a movie "based on" the Ouija board game is one of the few that seems to make a certain small amount of sense.

William Eubank is very social...with his media. The people milling around the press tour for his film, The Signal, are comparing the instagrams they took with the writer/director. These social butterflies are mostly publicists, people who’ve been photo-bombed by bigger names (Ted Danson and Tom Hanks come up a lot), but Eubank conjures excitement and that’s news indeed.
