Joseph Gordon-Levitt Wanted for Oliver Stone's Edward Snowden Pic

If everything aligns, Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play Edward Snowden in Oliver Stone's NSA whistleblower movie The Snowden Files. According to Variety, Gordon-Levitt has verbally agreed to the movie, but the sides have not worked out a deal. Stone is directing from his own script and is producing the movie with Eric Kopeloff and Moritz Borman.

Edward Snowden is getting the Oliver Stone treatment, according to Deadline. Stone and his producing partner Mortiz Borman have acquired the rights to journalist Luke Harding's book The Snowden Files: The Inside Story Of The World's Most Wanted Man. Stone is directing and will be adapting the screenplay himself. By bringing Harding and other Guardian journalists on board as consultants, it looks like Stone is going for authenticity here.
