The Possession

Based on true events, "The Possession" tells the story of the Brenek family: father Clyde, mother Stephanie, and daughter Em. When Em purchases an ancient box at a nearby yard sale, she becomes obsessed with her new artifact, and with good reason -- lurking inside is a dibbuk, a dislocated spirit that inhabits and ultimately devours its human host.

Lionsgate has provided us with an exclusive image from The Possession, the studio's late-summer supernatural romp which is opening in theaters on August 31st. You'll have to head inside for a look at the pic. Produced by Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, and directed by Ole Bornedal, the film stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Kyra Sedgwick, Madison Davenport and Natasha Calis.
