New in Theaters: ‘After Earth,’ ‘Now You See Me’

This weekend may prove to be a bit of a dark spot for our hot streak of summer releases—while both films coming out today promise to offer plenty of glitzy visuals, but were not exactly well-received by critics.
Coming out today is After Earth, an M. Night Shyamalan film about a father-son team—played by Will and Jaden Smith—navigating a sort of post-apocalyptic Earth populated by creatures bent on destroying human life.
