The 38th Hong Kong International Film Festival ended about three weeks ago … and I’m still recovering from it. Like Cannes, it’s difficult to find a good balance between watching films, writing about them, and absorbing the culture from another country in just a few weeks.

The 8th Annual Asian Film Awards (AFA) took place in Macau at the City of Dreams’ House of Dancing Waters Theater. Wong Kar Wai’s Grandmaster took home seven of the fourteen nominations, including Best Film, Best Actress (Zhang Ziyi), Best Director, Best Cinematographer, Best Costume, Best Composer, and Best Production Designer.


RZA Lines Up Next Two Directing Gigs – "The Man With the Iron Fists" hasn't even hit theaters yet, and already RZA has his next two movies lined up. The Hollywood Reporter has the news that the Wu-Tang Clan frontman-turned director will next helm the long-gestating biopic "Genghis Khan" and then will tackle the action thriller "No Man's Land." His directorial debut, "The Man With the Iron Fists," comes out Friday, so this news is pretty good evidence that the film is going to be as good as we hope it will be.
