Review: 'No Good Deed' Starring Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson At some point earlier this week Screen Gems, the low-budget genre arm of Sony Pictures, sent out an email saying that press screenings for their upcoming home invasion thriller "No Good Deed" had been shuttered because the twist ending was so seismic that they didn't want members of the press seeing it early and then spilling the beans.

Weekend Box Office Wrap Up: September 14th, 2014 The box office saw some life this weekend while Marvel’s Guardians hit a new milestone. In at number 1 is No Good Deed (read our review) with $24. 5 million. Clearly, audiences were looking for something new and this Idris Elba thriller fit the bill nicely. The film opened strong on Friday and was able to hold on throughout the weekend. Dolphin Tale 2 is the number 2 film this weekend with $16.5 million. The sequel’s numbers were slightly off of its predecessor’s, which opened with $19 million in September 2011.

The drama starring Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig as long-estranged and troubled twins reuniting and putting each others’ lives back on track took in $410,756 from 15 theaters for a strong $27,383 per-theater average for Roadside Attractions and Lionsgate.
