Warner Bros. Reveals Massive Plans for DC, 'Harry Potter,' Lego Franchises

We knew Warner Bros. execs had big things in store for fans of its DC properties, as well as visions of a new franchise for its Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, but the studio dropped some major news regarding scheduling for those titles -- as well as its plans for more Lego movies -- during a shareholders meeting today.


Enter The Ninjago Clip – Our First Taste, It Seems, Of Warner Bros.’ Next Lego Movie – As well as two ‘vanilla’ Lego movies, Warner Bros. also have the rights to create a Ninjago movie. That one should be next. Judging from this new special feature clip, from the Lego Movie DVD and Blu-ray, it will be just as irreverent as the ‘first’ film in the series.

They also won’t be at the helm of the planned spinoff, Ninjago. Despite this, the directing duo are still heavily involved in the franchise and are hard at work planning where to take it next.

'Lego Ninjago' Movie Coming Our Way

Now that Warner Bros. knows there's a huge audience for movies based on Lego blocks, the studio is contemplating whether or not to move forward with a spinoff based Lego's Ninjago line, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The studio only has the rights to one Lego Movie sequel, so the Ninjago spinoff could signal the studio's long term commitment to the franchise since the producers are free to take the property to other studios after the current deal.

Warner Bros. Developing Movie Based on LEGO's 'Ninjago' Toy Line – It sounds like Warner Bros. is really excited with the reception of The LEGO Movie trailer (watch it here), because they're sticking with the building block brand for another venture.
