'District 10' Still Happening Says Director Neill Blomkamp South African director Neill Blomkamp made his stellar directorial debut with 2009's District 9, which was followed up by Elysium and this weekend's Chappie. Ever since District 9 came out, fans have been pining for the sequel District 10, but there is very little we know about the project except for the title. Of course, now the director is working on bringing Alien 5 to the big screen, with Sigourney Weaver reprising her role as Ripley and original Alien director Ridley Scott producing, so it may be quite some time before we ever see District 10 on the big screen.

Chappie Lacks the Two Things It Pretends to Be About Columbia Pictures Writer/director Neill Blomkamp is only three features into what promises to be a long career, but he’s already developed some very clear patterns and themes. Basically, he pairs incredible CGI visuals with subtlety-free narratives centered on a main character who’s altered/enhanced in some life-altering way. District 9 tackled apartheid, Elysium blew the lid off wealth disparity and now his latest film explores yet another social injustice — the promise and danger of artificial intelligence.

“Not My Fault” – Clip From Neill Blomkamp’s Chappie Sony has released a clip from the upcoming film Chappie, directed by Neill Blomkamp. The film stars Sharlto Copley, Dev Patel and Hugh Jackman (with a mullet). Blomkamp is known for having directed District 9 and the other day he announced that he will be doing an Aliens film next via instagram.   Um… So I think it’s officially my next film.

Chappie is preternaturally gifted, one of a kind, a prodigy. He also happens to be a robot. Chappie stars Sharlto Copley, Dev Patel, Ninja and Yo-Landi Vi$$er, Jose Pablo Cantillo, with Sigourney Weaver and Hugh Jackman. The script was written by Neill Blomkamp & Terri Tatchell.
