Mother's Day News

Julia Roberts Made $3 Million For 4 Day’s Work on Box Office Bomb Mother’s Day is the latest film in a series with a successful formula: A star-studded ensemble comedy/drama that takes occasional turns to the romantic, heartwarming, and maudlin, while remaining focused on a particular holiday, and is directed by the octogenarian comedy legend Garry Marshall. The first two films, 2010’s Valentine’s Day and the following year’s New Year’s Eve, may not have been well-received by critics, but both were decent-sized box office hits, earning over $110 million and $54 million, respectively. Mother’s Day, though, doesn’t appear to have been as successful.

Box office report: 'The Jungle Book' threepeats with $42 million Not even three new wide releases could dethrone the king of the jungle. The Jungle Book spent its third weekend at the top of the box office, earning an estimated $42.4 million. Even with Keanu, Mother’s Day, and Ratchet & Clank hitting theaters, none of them could...

Film Review: MOTHER'S DAY

Latino Review - Thu, 2016-04-28 20:10

Film Review: MOTHER'S DAY The Bottom Line (1 minute review)My mom always said, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything.” Sorry mom.“Mother’s Day” directed by the legendary Garry Marshall features a star-studded ensemble cast in a holiday-themed film that (hopefully) completes the trilogy of star-studded ensemble cast in a holiday-themed film that includes “Valentine’s Day” and “New Year’s Eve” directed by Marshall.

'Mother's Day' Is the Next Holiday Garry Marshall Will Make a Movie About What is the worst franchise in Hollywood? Transformers? Alvin and the Chipmunks? Underworld? They’re all pretty crummy, but they pale before the abject awfulness of the unnamed franchise Garry Marshall’s been working on for the last couple years, where he takes a holiday everyone loves, cast a bunch of movie stars everyone loves, and puts them in a terrible, terrible movie that everyone hates (but which make a ton of money). First came Valentine’s Day featuring Julia Roberts, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Garner, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Biel, and Jamie Foxx, and it was bad.
